Kehlani Announces Self-Titled Album Due Out April 24

Kehlani, a standout artist who has helped shape the R&B landscape throughout the past ten years, revealed that her fifth studio project, titled after herself, is set to arrive on April 24. This new record comes after her 2024 effort Crash, which featured the popular track “After Hours.” Shortly after releasing Crash, Kehlani shared the mixtape While We Wait 2, serving as a follow-up to the 2019 project While We Wait.
According to an official announcement, Kehlani is characterized as a “deeply personal and bold musical achievement that captures her sense of self-assurance, poise, and artistic independence.” The statement points out that albums sharing an artist's name are typically intimate explorations, and this upcoming release continues that meaningful trend.
“Delving into topics of affection, metamorphosis, openness, and development, this record showcases Kehlani at her most comfortable—authentic, introspective, and completely genuine,” the statement adds.
While the full tracklist has yet to be revealed, it remains uncertain if Kehlani will feature “Folded,” the massive hit she released last summer. “Folded” peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100—marking her best performance on that chart to date—and secured Grammy wins for both Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. In the coming month, Kehlani is slated to receive the Impact Award during the Billboard Women in Music ceremony.
