Iconic hip-hop producer Mike WiLL Made-It is set to release his latest project, R3SET, on March 20. Alongside the album, he is debuting a documentary that chronicles his ascent in the music industry and the profound devastation he endured after hard drives containing his unreleased work were stolen around 2017. Today, WiLL shared a teaser for the documentary as well as the lead single, “ROOMS,” which features two frequent collaborators: YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Chief Keef.

Co-produced by WiLL and Truebeatzz, “ROOMS” marks another union between Keef and YoungBoy, following their 2019 track “Fireman.” This new effort feels more significant, anchored by a majestic trap beat that provides a perfect backdrop for the pair to reflect on their rags-to-riches journeys. YoungBoy opens the track, navigating his verse with a slurred delivery as he details the dangerous environments he escaped to achieve his current status.

Hundred mill', my deposit amount
I’m here now, ain’t no prophecy (Yeah)
I'ma press when I come in the buildin', ain’t no stoppin' me (Oh)
Shawty, don’t know all these things I done seen
Time to spin on shit ‘cause they shot at me
I gotta focus, I’m livin’ out my dream

In the chorus, YoungBoy turns to a romantic interest as a replacement for turning to substances to cope.

I’m rollin', nothin' but women around me, I won’t hurt nobody
Drink out the bottle, tryna solve my problems
Shawty my drugs, she substitutin' my narcotics
Wanna ride on my bus with nothin' but dollars and some choppers in the rooms

Chief Keef leads his verse by addressing firearms and recreational vices.

(Uh) She overdramatic, these bitches be actin' (Uh)
Know we got gas, you know we ain’t lackin'
Got army guns, and boy, you a maggot
That’s not a joint, that’s a damn 4Matic
Always smokin', I think I’m an addict
I’m in the joint and I ride with a baddie
You know I’m up like a motherfuckin' addict
Doo-doo-doo-doo, you know we ain’t lackin'

Keef’s bars strike a noticeably more aggressive tone than YoungBoy’s contributions. Towards the end, the Chicago native warns rivals against sparking conflicts involving women.

Catch your ass while you pumpin' the gas, now we back on the block and we pumpin' the brick
Pull up tryna beef ‘bout a thot, you’ll lose your life because of a bitch

During the final verse, YoungBoy briefly lets his guard down, acknowledging a personal need for redemption.

Jesus pieces all on my neck, need to be saved
Bitch subpoenain' me about a check, ho, be safe
I’ve been goin' off track, I’m talkin' ‘bout a check, lately been drivin’ me crazy (Cray)
My diamonds snow, so the late nights ridin' the whip, I'ma switch out the modifications, I’m gone (Gone)
