Millennial superstar Hilary Duff makes her long-awaited return today with luck… or something, marking her first studio project since 2015's Breathe In. Breathe Out. Now a mother of four in her thirties, the former Disney darling draws on her authentic life journey—from managing household responsibilities to reflecting on personal connections—to anchor the new collection.

“I just felt truly prepared to open up,” Duff shared with Glamour regarding her choice to resume her music career after a ten-year hiatus. “For starters, I craved a new creative challenge, and additionally, I wanted to produce work that allowed me to re-engage with my audience as the person I’ve evolved into today. I recognize that many others have faced similar significant milestones to the ones I’ve navigated over the past decade or so.”

The album features tracks such as “Roommates”—a song detailing a relationship that has lost its spark—and “Mature,” which delves into a former involvement with a significantly older partner. The latter track sparked a wave of digital gossip regarding the identity of the person mentioned in the lyrics.

“I believe the situation is deeply layered, and it’s difficult to justify certain events that have unfolded throughout my journey,” Duff explained to Glamour. “However, I will say this: having worked as a professional since the age of ten, forming peer-level relationships with people my own age has proven to be quite a struggle.”
