Acclaimed indie-rock musician Mitski has unveiled her eighth studio record today, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, serving as the successor to 2023’s impressively titled The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We. Mitski has reunited with longtime production partner Patrick Hyland, with whom she has worked for over ten years; however, this latest collection sees her pivoting to "immerse herself in a vivid narrative centered on an introverted woman living in a neglected residence," according to official statements.

“When she is out in the world, she behaves like an outcast; when she is within her own walls, she finds liberation,” the press release notes.

Nothing’s About to Happen features lead singles such as “Where’s My Phone?”—a punchy, punk-inspired track accompanied by a surrealist music video—alongside “I’ll Change for You,” an understated, string-driven pop ballad complemented by softer aesthetic visuals.

Mitski is set to debut material from the new project on a global tour, which includes multi-night engagements in major hubs like New York City, Los Angeles, and Sydney.
