The Pussycat Dolls Are Ready For A Girls’ Night Out On New Single “Club Song”

If we’re truly embracing the Y2K revival, it is high time we heard fresh tracks from The Pussycat Dolls. The former burlesque troupe turned pop sensation defined the early 2000s with iconic bops like “Don’t Cha,” and they have just returned with “Club Song,” their first new release since the 2020 track “React,” which had served as their comeback after a decade-long hiatus. Currently performing as a trio, the group consists of Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts, and on “Club Song,” they are clearly looking forward to a night of celebration with the girls.
Scherzinger co-wrote “Club Song” alongside Solly, Caroline Ailin, and the track’s architect, Mike Sabath, a producer recognized for his work with stars like RAYE, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes. With a heavy bassline and a subtle Eastern-inspired melody, “Club Song” feels like a nostalgic nod to the 2000s, while the verses depict a perfect evening for a group of friends. In the opening verse, Scherzinger addresses a friend’s deadbeat partner, bluntly telling him to stay away. He simply isn't welcome.
Listen up, your lady is sitting by herself
You aren’t stepping up, she’s feeling low but she isn’t broken
Listen up, I understand because I’ve been in her shoes
Her form is made to shine, carrying emotions she can’t quite put into words
As the chorus highlights, Nicole’s companion just needs some quality time with her friends.
Give her the girls (Girls), give her the spotlight (Floor)
Give her a club anthem, exactly what she’s longing for (Yeah)
Give her the space (Room) to truly shine (Show)
Give her a club anthem and watch her own the room
During the second verse, Scherzinger suggests that her friend only reveals her authentic self when she is out with her crew, dancing freely without a care in the world.
That’s right, past the middle of the night
The music fits perfectly
She moves like someone you don’t recognize
That’s her, her genuine self coming through
Keep it going until 6 AM
The beat is the ultimate remedy
Beyond this latest single, The Pussycat Dolls are preparing to re-release their albums PCD (2005) and Doll Domination (2008), while also gearing up for a 53-show reunion tour that kicks off on June 5.
