Yeat appears to be gearing up for the launch of his sixth studio project, A DANGEROUS LYFE, but for now, he has returned with “Made It On Our Own,” a fresh collaboration alongside the masked Liverpool emcee EsDeeKid—an emerging talent who, for the record, is definitely not Timothée Chalamet.

Crafted by producers Mathaius Young and Lucid, “Made It On Our Own” serves as a vibrant, celebratory pop-trap anthem. Given that the music video was filmed inside Drake’s residence, it is no surprise that they are feeling confident about their current standing.

During the opening of the track, Yeat appears to take aim at Playboi Carti and his Opium collective. That, at least, is the prevailing theory among Reddit users.

We made it on our own, uh
Made it on our own (I-I-I-I-I)
Bitch, I made it on my own
I ain’t need to sign no clones

However, Yeat is more preoccupied with reflecting on his own personal milestones, which serves as the core theme of the chorus.

Oh, we made it (Yeah), oh, we made it (Made it on our own)
Oh, we made this life together, so, we made it (Made it on our own)
Crocodile leather packaged better, oh (We made it on our own)
Oh, we made it, uh, now my vision fa— (We made it on our— I-I-I)

EsDeeKid handles the first verse, boasting about the massive fortune he’s built while keeping his identity hidden behind a balaclava.

Ayy, oh, we made it
We’re turned up and we’re famous
I’m ballied up in this club light
I’ve got killers down on the A-List
Come talk shit to this stainless
I made ten mil' while I’m faceless

Yeat uses the latter half of his verse to call out a few unnamed rivals, though he seems largely unbothered by their existence.

Hate me (I-I-I—), I know all these pussies hate me
‘Cause my money been sick, it got rabies
And these bitches bounce on me, Mercedes
King Tonka the latest and greatest
And you keep on talkin’ that, “Shh,” all I’m sayin' to them (Eh)
You can take your lil' sorry ass back home, lil' bitch, we ain’t playin' with them (Fuck, fuck)
‘Cause we made it (I-I-I—)

For most of the duration of “Made It On Our Own,” the pair enjoys a lavish time at Drizzy’s mansion, complete with beverages, company, and a casual game of basketball. Yet, the final moments take an unexpected turn that puts an abrupt end to the festivities.
